Sabal (Tata Steel Foundation) anchors one of the deepest and most diverse societal development efforts that directly reach more than 1.5million lives across 4,500 gram-panchayats in Jharkhand and Odisha every year. The impact programmes are certified as replicable change models on themes like Education, Public Health, Tribal Identity, Livelihoods, Agriculture, Water, Disability, etc. which are based on a contemporary understanding of core development challenges of the region and are closely aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 agenda. These have yielded significant results like 1,200+ habitations being declared child labour free zones, 40% decline in maternal and child mortality rates, raising real income of more than 50,000 households by over ₹ 1,25,000 per annum and conserving over 175 million cubic feet of water amongst communities in the last few years, while curating positive Social Capital and effective leadership amongst communities. We are a Section 8 Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited and eligible for FCRA and CSR implementation.
